why we have turned this day into easter baskets and candy galore, i am not sure. but, hey, i enjoy every bit of these random easter traditions. my parents started our own little family tradition when i was a child where they would hide each child's easter baskets somewhere around the house. and when we all woke up the next morning we would search the house for our own basket. i have always loved this tradition. well, kenny and i decided to keep this tradition. we hid max's easter basket in his favorite hiding spot with confidence that he would visit that spot first thing in the morning. and he did. he ripped apart his basket in no time and immediately shoved all the candy in his mouth. and after eating that much candy max had quite the sugar rush. to say the least church was quite the challenge. we were able to snap one good picture of max, not in his church clothes [of course]. later in the afternoon we headed to my parents for easter dinner and a little egg hunt. max's cousin, brinton, was too sick to come for the celebration but brinton's sister, holland came anyway. max and holland enjoyed every minute of the hunt, it definitely took a little while to get them to gather the eggs. but the day was a success.

happy easter.
it is important to remember the real reason we celebrate this day. easter is the day to celebrate Christ's resurection. to remember the sacrifices that He made for us. and to teach our children of the impact His sacrifice has made in our lives.
